Mobile Data Collection System for M&E

The Kitui County Government sought to enhance its monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes by transitioning from traditional data collection methods to a more efficient, real-time mobile data collection system. The challenge was to establish a robust system that could streamline data collection and improve the accuracy and timeliness of information gathering.

Kitui County Government partnered with Indepth Research Institute (IRES) to develop a comprehensive mobile data collection system for M&E. This system was designed to create digital surveys, enable real-time data upload to storage facilities, and provide training to county staff on its usage.

Key Outputs

1. Mobile Phone-Based Data Collection System: IRES successfully established a mobile phone-based data collection system. This system allowed for the creation of digital surveys and facilitated the real-time upload of data to centralized storage facilities, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
2. Training of Kitui County Staff: IRES conducted training sessions for 15 Kitui County staff members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to effectively use the new mobile data collection system. This training ensured that the staff could efficiently operate the system and maximize its benefits for M&E activities.
