This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to provide basic life support in emergency situations. Through a combination of theoretical understanding and hands-on practice, participants will gain confidence in responding to critical situations.
Duration: 5 days
Demonstrate effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
Instruct participants on the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Emphasize teamwork and communication during emergency response.
Module 1: Introduction to Basic Life Support
Overview of the importance of BLS in emergency care.
Legal and ethical considerations in providing BLS.
Module 2: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Techniques
Hands-on training in chest compressions and rescue breaths.
Understanding the ABCs (Airway, Breathing, Circulation) of BLS.
Module 3: Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use
Introduction to AED devices and their role in emergency response.
Practical training in using AEDs.
Module 4: Choking and Airway Management
Recognizing and responding to choking emergencies.
Techniques for maintaining an open airway.
Module 5: Team Dynamics and Simulation Exercises
Importance of effective teamwork during emergency response.
Simulation exercises to reinforce BLS principles.
Instructor-led sessions use a blended learning approach combining presentations, guided practical exercises, web-based tutorials, and group work, delivered by seasoned industry experts. All facilitation and course materials are in English, so participants should be reasonably proficient in the language.
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued an Apollina Healthcare certificate certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
The training will be held at Apollina Healthcare Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, and lunch. All participants will additionally cater to their travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
